Yara reports strong second-quarter results, hikes NPK capacity in Finland

Yara International (Oslo) today reported strong second-quarter results, with improved European commodity margins because of lower gas price. Lower nitrate deliveries impacted results, but complex NPK fertilizer deliveries and value-added premium products remained strong, the company says. Second-quarter net income after noncontrolling interests was 2.29 billion Norwegian kroner ($368 million) compared with NK1.87 billion a year earlier.
