Total to Invest Up to $82 Million in Amyris Biofuels Collaboration

Amyris (Emeryville, CA) says its technology collaboration with Total has been expanded to include up to $82 million in funding over the next three years for development of diesel and jet fuel based on Amyris’ biobased farnesene. Upon completion of the research and development program, Total and Amyris intend to form a joint venture company that would have exclusive rights to produce and market renewable diesel and/or jet fuel, as well as nonexclusive rights to other specialty products.
