Solvay reports increased net sales, net profits

Solvay Group, including Rhodia, says net sales in the third quarter of 2012 increased slightly, to €3.29 billion ($4.28 billion), compared with €3.26 billion in the third quarter of 2011. Adjusted net profits and recurring Ebitda also increased 2% and 4% year-on-year (YOY), to €163 million and €554 million, respectively, the company says. Ebit, however, decreased 7% in the third quarter, to €329 million, because of higher nonrecurring items linked to the integration and cost efficiencies programs, Solvay says.
