Solvay classifies chlorovinyls operations as 'assets for sale'

Solvay said today that it has decided to classify its chlorovinyls activities as assets for sale and discontinued operations as of the third quarter. The move follows the company's decision to combine these operations with Ineos's chlorovinyls business. Solvay and Ineos on 7 May 2013 signed a nonbinding letter of intent for the combination of their respective activities into a 50-50 joint venture. Solvay intends to quit these operations eventually.    The proposed transaction is subject to the applicable information and consultation procedures...
