Praxair Earnings Up 1%, Second-Half Earnings Forecast Cut

Praxair reported second-quarter net income of $429 million, up 1% from the year-ago quarter. Reported earnings of $1.42/share were 3% above the prior-year quarter and matched the midpoint of analyst estimates as reported by Thomson Reuters (New York).  Praxair cut its full-year earnings forecast by about 3%, citing the impact of a stronger dollar and weaker economies in Europe and South America....
