Regions :: Western Europe Perstorp to Acquire Rhodia and LyondellBasell Isocyanate Businesses2:33 PM MDT | April 2, 2008 | Chemical Week Editorial Staff Perstorp says it has entered into exclusive negotiations to buy the isocyanate businesses of LyondellBasell and Rhodia. The deal includes Rhodia’s aliphatic isocyanates unit, which produces a range of intermediates for industrial paints and coatings. Rhodia plans to divest the bulk of its organics business (CW, March 3, p. 13). The transaction also includes Lyondell’s toluene diisocyanate business, which produces intermediates for polyurethanes foams, operated under contract by Rhodia.
