Naturex Buys Italian Firm

Naturex (Avignon, France), a manufacturer of pharmaceutical and nutraceutical ingredients from natural plants, says it has agreed to purchase pharma manufacturer Hammer Pharma (Milan) for €10 million ($12.9 million). Hammer specializes in R&D and production of plant extracts for the pharma and nutraceutical industries. Hammer has about 50 staff. It generated Ebitda of €1 million in 2006, on sales of €8 million.
