Regions :: Western Europe Momentive to Stop Formaldehyde Production at German Plant9:16 AM MDT | April 13, 2012 | Lindsey Bewley Momentive Specialty Chemicals says it will stop formaldehyde and formaldehyde-based resins production at its Leuna, Germany site by June 30. “This action will better align European market demand for forest products with Momentive’s existing assets,” the company says. The site employs about 80 workers. The Leuna site operated by Momentive Specialty Chemicals Forest Products GmbH. The plant has the capacity to produce about 243,000 m.t./year of formaldehyde and also produces melamine-formaldehyde resins and urea-formaldehyde resins. The...
