Kemira Reports Improved Earnings; Continues to Focus on Water Chemistry

Kemira (Helsinki) reported a 52% increase in opeating profit in the second quarter of this year to €44.5 million ($57.8 million) on 12% higher sales of €545.2 million. Operating profit, excluding non-recurring items, rose 38% to €40.5 million. Profit before tax totalled €37.3 million and earnings per share from continuing operations was €0.17.
