Givaudan's 2012 sales increase 8.7%

Givaudan's (Vernier, Switzerland) sales totaled 4.26 billion Swiss francs ($4.68 billion) during 2012, an increase of 8.7% in Swiss francs compared with 2011, the company says. Ebitda rose by 14.8%, to SF870 million, in 2012 from SF758 million the year before. The improvement in Ebitda was hampered by higher pension costs and the costs associated with the startup of a facility at Makó, Hungary.
