Germany pushes for stricter reform of emissions trading

The German government says that it welcomes the European Commission's proposal for a prompt and sustainable reform of the European Union’s emissions trading system but calls for more extensive improvements. "We have given a clear signal in the debate over climate protection in the European Union," says Barbara Hendricks, Germany’s environment minister.
