European Commission fails to reach majority in neonicotinoids vote

The European Commission says that “no qualified majority was reached” in a vote by member states concerning the possible ban of three neonicotinoids: clothanidin and imidacloprid, both Bayer CropScience products; and thiametoxam, which is produced by Syngenta, for allegedly harming the health of honeybees.
