Europe investigates limits for chromium VI in toys

The European Union's Scientific Committee on Health and Environmental Risk (Scher) has been asked by the European Commission to provide an opinion on chromium oxide peroxide (chromium VI) in toys, the committee says. The committee has been asked to review available scientific data and conclusions drawn for chromium VI in light of a technical support document for hexavalent chromium in drinking water by the Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA; Sacramento, CA), published in 2011.
