Elementis Reports Strong First-Half Performance

Elementis (London) says its sales in the first half of 2012 increased 1%, to $401.3 million compared with $396 million in the first half of 2011. Operating profits increased 12% in the first half, to $80.7 million compared with $72.2 million in the prior-year period. Elementis's first-half 2012 results "reflect the positive progress that has been made in implementing the group's strategy," says Robert Beeston, chairman at Elementis.
