EU chemical output grows for fourth consecutive quarter

Cefic says in its latest chemicals trends report, published today, that quarterly output in the European chemical industry increased for the fourth consecutive period. Chemical output increased in first-quarter 2014 by 3.1% compared with the year-ago quarter, but European chemical prices fell 2.8% over the same period, Cefic says. Total EU chemical sales during the first two months of 2014 were 2.7% higher than the precrisis, full-year peak reached in 2008.
