EU Decides Against Separate Nanomaterials Regulations

The European Commission has confirmed it will not seek to develop a new body of legislation to manage potential risks from nanomaterials. Instead, it is planning for nanomaterials to be managed under existing legislation, including the Registration, Evaluation and Authorisation of Chemicals (Reach) program. A review of Reach, scheduled for 2012, will take nanomaterials more fully into account, the commission says....
