EU court upholds ECHA approach to identifying PBTs and vPvBs

The European General Court (Luxembourg) has confirmed the European Chemical Agency's (ECHA; Helsinki) approach to identifying persistent, bioaccumulative, and toxic substances (PBTs) and very persistent and very bioaccumulative substances (vPvBs) as substances of very high concern, ECHA announced. According to the ruling, handed down on 7 March, identifying PBTs or vPvBs on the basis of their constituent ingredients present in a concentration of 0.1% or more is lawful.
