ECHA expects EU member states to carry out 50 substance evaluations every year under Reach

The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA; Helsinki) says it expects that European Union member states will carry out on average 50 substance evaluations every year under the European Union's Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation, and Restriction of Chemicals (Reach) legislation. "This seems realistic with a view of the capacity of EU member states for the evaluation work and responds to current regulatory needs for triggering the substance-evaluation process," ECHA says.
