ECHA Agrees to Publish SVHC Data2:37 PM MDT | May 23, 2011 | Alex Scott The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA; Helsinki) has agreed to publish the names of companies producing chemicals classified under the Registration, Evaluation, and Authorisation of Chemicals (Reach) program as substances of very high concern (SVHC). The decision is in response to a lawsuit filed by two environmental groups, which say that ECHA’s nondisclosure policy was in violation of European Union (EU) laws. The caveat is that “companies will be able to keep this information confidential, provided that a valid justification is given and accepted by ECHA,” the agency says....
