Draft opinions agreed for authorization of phthalates under Reach

The committees for risk assessment (RAC) and socioeconomic analysis (SEAC) of the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA; Helsinki) have discussed various uses of bis(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) and dibutyl phthalate (DBP) proposed in several applications for authorization under the European Union’s Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation, and Restriction of Chemicals (Reach) regulations, ECHA says.
