CropScience Lifts Bayer's Second-Quarter Earnings; Rhodia's Results are Up on Higher Selling Prices (update)

Bayer reported combined second-quarter operating profit before special items for its Bayer CropScience and Bayer MaterialScience up 14%, to €628 million ($979 million) on sales up 6%, to €4.4 billion. “We are particularly pleased at the strong performance of Bayer CropScience and are again raising our full-year guidance for this subgroup,” says management board chairman Werner Wenning.
