Clariant is Favorite to Acquire Süd-Chemie Stake

Clariant is the frontrunner to acquire One Equity Partners' (OEP) controlling 50.41% stake in Süd-Chemie (Munich), according to reports quoting sources involved with the proposed transaction. Clariant and Mitsui Chemicals are the last remaining bidders for the Süd-Chemie stake and Clariant is expected to be the chosen buyer, the reports say. Discussions between OEP and Clariant are well advanced and the proposed deal values the whole of Süd-Chemie at about €1.4 billion excluding debt, the reports add.
