Clariant Starts up Cellulosic Ethanol Pilot Plant

Clariant's Strabing, Germany pilot plant. Clariant says it has inaugurated Germany's largest cellulosic ethanol pilot plant at Straubing, Bavaria. The €28 million ($34 million) plant has the capacity to produce up to 1,000 m.t./year of ethanol from around 4,500 m.t. of wheat straw using Clariant’s sunliquid technology.
