Clariant Shareholders Approve Share Issue, Paving the Way to Acquisition of Süd-Chemie

Clariant's shareholders have approved a share issue that is one of the basic requirements of the company's recently announced €2-billion acquisition of Süd-Chemie (Munich). Clariant shareholders voted in favor of the share issue at the company's recently held annual meeting. Part of the transaction will take the form of a share swap with Süd-Chemie's family shareholders. Clariant will finance the rest of the deal with debt and cash.
