CPhI: Actavis Expands into New Markets, Will Enter Biosimilars

Generic pharmaceuticals manufacturer Actavis (Hafnarfjordur, Iceland) says the company is in the process of expanding its presence in regions such as Japan, Mideast and South America, and it also closely monitors the biosimilar market and related activities within the business sector. Actavis says that biosimilars will play a major role in the generics industry in the future. Biosimilars are approved versions of innovator biopharmaceutical products introduced after patent expiry.
