BASF to close metals recycling unit in the UK, focus on autocatalyst recycling market

BASF has proposed a plan to consolidate manufacturing operations at its Cinderford, UK, precious metals recycling plant, losing about 50 jobs, the company announced today. BASF will exit its electronic scrap and gold and silver recycling business to dedicate its full focus on the fast-growing autocatalysts recycling market, aligning with growing demand for platinum group metals, such as platinum, palladium, and rhodium, the company says.
