BASF opens catalyst research lab in Germany

BASF and the Cluster of Excellence Unifying Concepts in Catalysis (UniCat) have opened the BasCat Laboratory building on the south campus of Technical University (TU) Berlin, BASF says. The facility occupies a 1,000-square meter space—lab and office area—and will host 17 scientists who will research the principles of heterogeneous catalysis for raw material change, BASF adds. BASF is investing up to €6.4 million there during the first five years. The company and TU Berlin are together devoting about €13 million to establish the laboratory...
