Regions :: Western Europe Arkema’s Second Quarter Earnings Rise4:34 AM MDT | August 7, 2008 | Kerri Walsh Arkema reported second-quarter net income up 60%, to €60 million, on sales up 1%, to €1.5 billion. Ebitda rose 5%, to €158 million. Sales rose mostly because of higher selling prices in the industrial chemicals and performance products segments, Arkema says. Ebitda improved because new products and cost saving measures offset unfavorable currency exchange rates and a “more challenging economic environment, in particular the vinyl products segment,” Arkema says.
