Arkema to build production capacity for the novel refrigerant gas HFO-1234yf

Arkema says it has decided to go ahead with plans to build production capacity for the novel, low global warming potential, refrigerant gas hydrofluoroolefin (HFO)-1234yf with an anticipated start-up in 2016. The program, based on proprietary technology developed by Arkema, will be in two phases: the first will be in Asia and the second in Europe. Site locations were not disclosed.
