Regions :: Western Europe Arkema abandons PVDF expansion in France following protests by workers3:52 PM MST | December 4, 2012 | Ian Young Arkema says it has abandoned a €70-million project to increase capacity for the company's Kynar polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) fluoropolymer at Pierre-Bénite near Lyon, France following opposition from members of the site's workforce to a reorganization that would have accompanied the plans. The project, developed by Arkema since last year, would have raised PVDF capacity at Pierre-Bénite by 50% by 2014 and modernized the site.
