AkzoNobel board member Darner to step down; CEO Büchner will return to work at year-end

AkzoNobel has announced that board member Leif Darner will step down from the board at the company's annual meeting in April 2013. Darner has board responsibility for performance coatings. Conrad Keijzer, currently managing director of AkzoNobel's industrial coatings business, will take over Darner's responsibilities for performance coatings. Keijzer will join AkzoNobel's executive committee on 1 January 2013. Darner joined AkzoNobel in 1998 when the company absorbed the former Courtaulds.
