Regions :: Southeast Asia :: Thailand Ube Invests in Thai Hexanediol Facility12:57 PM MDT | October 20, 2008 | Chemical Week Editorial Staff Ube Industries says it has finalized plans to build a 1,6-hexanediol (1,6-HDL) plant at Rayong, Thailand. Ube has formed a wholly owned subsidiary, Ube Fine Chemicals Asia, to operate the complex. Production is expected to begin in early 2011. The complex will be built at an existing site owned by Ube and will have capacity for 6,000 m.t./year, including co-product 1,5-pentanediol. Ube uses 1,6-HDL to produce fine chemicals.
