UOP Catalyst Selected by PTT for Aromatics Facility in Thailand

Honeywell subsidiary UOP says that PTT Aromatics and Refining (Bangkok), an affiliate of energy company PTT (Bangkok), has selected the UOP CCR Platforming R-264 catalyst to produce aromatics in its facility at Map Ta Phut, Thailand. The PTT Aromatics and Refining facility will use UOP’s catalyst in its CCR Platforming unit to convert naphtha for producing benzene and para-xylene. “Demand for para-xylene and benzene continues to grow,” says Caroline Bibb, senior v.p./Catalysts, Adsorbents, and Specialties group at UOP.  The UOP solutions...
