Thailand's PTT Chemical Reports Higher Profit

PTT Chemical (Bangkok), Thailand's leading petrochemical company, reported an 8.3% increase in net proit to baht 2.32 billion ($72.6 million) in the quarter from April to June. The profit was down compared with the baht 3.17 billion in the first quarter, however. PTT Aromatics and Refining, meanwhile, reported its first quarterly loss in five quarters, due mainly to lower petrochemical margins and crude inventory losses.
