Mitsui Chemicals Plans PP Compound Expansions in China, Thailand, and North America

Mitsui Chemicals and its subsidiary Prime Polymer Co. (Tokyo) say they have decided to increase polypropylene (PP) compound production capacity in China, Mexico, Thailand, and the U.S. by a combined 73,000 m.t./year, taking total capacity to 375,000 m.t./year. The expansion in capacity is expected to be completed by the end of 2009. This move is in response to growing demand for PP-based automotive materials in Asia and North America, Mitsui says.
