Indian Firm Acquires Thai Tire Cord Manufacturer

India’s largest tire cord manufacturer and producer of fluorochemicals, polyester films and refrigerant gases, SRF (Gurgaon) says it has completed the acquisition of Thailand-based tire cord manufacturer Thai Baroda Industries (Rayong) for about $25 million. SRF had first announced plans to acquire Thai-Baroda last May and now with the completion of the acquisition, it has become a 100% subsidiary of SRF, the company says. Thai-Baroda has a production capacity of about 12,000 m.t./year of dipped nylon tire cord fabric with annual sales of about $50 million...
