Siam Cement and two Japanese firms link in ethylidene norbornene investment plan

Siam Cement Group (SCG; Bangkok) says its SCG Chemicals subsidiary has signed an agreement with two Japanese producers, JX Nippon Oil & Energy (JX) and Sanyo Chemical Industries (SCI), to conduct a feasibility study to build a world-scale ethylidene norbornene (ENB) plant in Thailand. ENB is an important component in the production of ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM) rubber, which is mainly used in the automotive sector.
