Sumitomo Chemical opens SSBR plant in Singapore

Sumitomo Chemical on Friday held an official inauguration ceremony for its solution-styrene butadiene rubber (SSBR) plant at Jurong Island, Singapore. The product is used to make fuel-efficient tires.   The plant, designed to produce 40,000 m.t./year of SSBR, will serve customers in Asia, Europe and North America. Singapore's Second Minister for Trade and Industry S. Iswaran said at the opening ceremony that the government will continue to support the local energy and chemicals industry through investments in infrastructure and make utilities cost...
