Regions :: Southeast Asia :: Singapore Sojitz Acquires Asian Sales Rights to Braskem's Green Polyethylene7:46 AM MDT | July 11, 2012 | Natasha Alperowicz Sojitz Planet, a wholly owned subsidiary of Sojitz Corp., says it has acquired the sales rights to green polyethylene (PE) bioplastic made from sugarcane by Braskem. Sojitz Planet will sell this green PE in Japan and the rest of Asia/Pacific. The corporation aims to handle 20,000 m.t./year within three years. Global production of bioplastics reached 640,000 m.t. in 2010 and is expected to increase to 3.7 million m.t./year in 2016, Sojitz says.
