Regions :: Southeast Asia :: Singapore Shell’s Singapore Butadiene Unit to Use BASF Process1:31 PM MDT | July 25, 2007 | Chemical Week Editorial Staff Shell Chemicals says that its previously announced 155,000-m.t./year butadiene plant at Bukom Island, Singapore will use BASF’s butadiene extraction technology, licensed through ABB Lummus Global (CW, April 11/18, p. 17). Lummus and Toyo Engineering have formed a joint venture to carry out engineering, procurement, and construction work on the plant. Meanwhile, the companies have started construction work on an ethylene plant for Shell at Bukom Island that will supply crude C4’s to the butadiene...
