(Singapore), part of Kanto Chemical Co. (Tokyo), has broken ground on a new S$20-million ($13.2 million) manufacturing plant in Singapore that will produce functional and highly purified chemicals for the semiconductor, hard disk drive, and solar panel industries. The plant is expected to become operational by August 2008 and will serve customers in the Southeast Asia market. Total production capacity of the plant will be 6,000 m.t./year, Kanto Chemical says.
