BASF and Petronas Plan Superabsorbents Plant at Kuantan

BASF and Petronas say they will commence a feasibility study for a superabsorbent polymers plant at Kuantan, Malaysia and they have also decided to look into the expansion of their existing BASF Petronas Chemicals joint venture. The new investment will form part of the joint venture established by the partners in 1997. The company, a 60-40 alliance between BASF and Petronas, currently operates an integrated complex at Kuantan producing acrylic monomers, oxo products and butanediol.
