Regions :: Southeast Asia :: Singapore Asahi Kasei to Build S-SBR Plant in Singapore10:57 PM MDT | October 17, 2010 | Deepti Ramesh Asahi Kasei Chemicals (AKC), an Asahi Kasei subsidiary, says it will construct a new plant to produce solution-polymerized styrene-butadiene rubber (S-SBR) at Jurong Island, Singapore. The plant will initially have a capacity to produce 50,000 m.t./year of S-SBR, and is expected to come onstream in June 2013. The second phase of construction at the plant is expected to be completed in the first half of 2015, and will increase S-SBR capacity by another 50,000 m.t./year.
