The Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) is promoting a project to build a world-scale. methanol-to-olefins complex in Singapore. Studies are under way for a plant with capacity for more than 1 million m.t./year of olefins that would cost an estimated $1 billion, EDB says. Methanol to feed the plant would be produced in gas-rich regions such as the Mideast and shipped to Singapore.
