Petronas Launches Petchem Study with Uzbek Energy Company

Petronas (Kuala Lumpur) says it has begun joint studies with Uzbekistan's state-owned oil company Uzbekneftegaz National Holding Co. (Tashkent) for the development of downstream petrochemical projects in Uzbekistan. The companies have also signed a production-sharing agreement for a group of oil fields in Uzbekistan and agreed to jointly study a gas-to-liquids project in the country, Petronas says.
