Accident at PTT gas separation plant affects PTTGC’s olefins production

Energy firm PTT (Bangkok) says that operations have been suspended at its number five gas separation plant unit at Map Ta Phut following an accident on 14 August caused by a thunderstorm and lightning. Operations at the unit will resume within three to five months, following repair, PTT says. The unit supplies gas to an olefins plant belonging to PTT Global Chemical (PTTGC; Bangkok), an affiliate of PTT. The PTTGC's olefins plant at Map Ta Phut has a production capacity of 450,000 m.t./year. PTTGC says that it will coordinate with other companies, including PTT...
