IHS: Pertamina import terminal marks opportunity for LNG exporters to Indonesia

Pertamina (Jakarta) has begun construction of the Arun LNG (liquefied natural gas) Storage and Regasification Terminal, the company announced on 10 November. The facility, slated for completion in 2014, will support the shipment of natural gas from production fields in the east of Indonesia that have historically served the export market, to the west of the country, where supply has become increasingly tight, says a recent report from IHS’s World Markets Energy service. The facility will also support LNG trade from Australia, North America, and East Africa, compounding the rapid expansion of the Asian LNG import market, says IHS....
