Chandra Asri and Ferrostaal plan petrochemical JV in Indonesia

Chandra Asri Petrochemical (Jakarta) and construction and engineering firm Ferrostaal (Essen, Germany) have agreed to study the possibility of establishing an olefins complex at Teluk Bintuni in West Papua Province, Indonesia, say local press reports. The methanol-based complex would involve a total investment of about $1.89 billion and produce 400,000 m.t./year of polypropylene (PP) and 175,000 m.t./year of ethylene.
