Regions :: Southeast Asia Tata Chemicals to Invest in Singapore Seedling Firm to Boost Biofuels Program2:59 AM MST | November 26, 2008 | Deepti Ramesh Tata Chemicals (Mumbai) says it has signed an agreement to invest S$25 million ($17 million) in Jatropha seedling company, JOil (Singapore). According to the agreement, Tata Chemicals will get exclusive marketing rights for JOil’s Jatropha seedlings in East Africa and India, and also a preferential price for seedlings that Tata Chemicals requires for its own cultivation of Jatropha. JOil will set up tissue culture labs in various locations, and market Jatropha seedlings that are produced by using the micro-propagation technology developed by Temasek Life...
