Regions :: Southeast Asia Qatar to invest $5 billion in Malaysia petchem complex, report says8:09 AM MST | January 29, 2013 | Francinia Protti-Alvarez Qatar Holding (Doha), the country’s sovereign wealth fund, is planning a $5-billion investment in Malaysia’s petrochemical sector, Free Malaysia Today reports. The sum would be half of what Qatar Holding plans to invest in Malaysia as a whole, the report adds. The $5-billion investment would be destined for the Pengerang Integrated Petroleum complex—at Pengerang, in the southern state of Johor—which is expected to be onstream in 2016, the report says.
